OUR JOURNEY

Our Organisational Footprint

In 2020, Traffi completed a comprehensive assessment of the environmental impact of our Head Office and Operations. This included a detailed review of transport, storage, energy use and all other relevant activities. Using recognised standards and independent verification, we established a clear footprint that allowed us to identify areas for reduction and continued improvement.

This baseline assessment became the foundation of our long-term sustainability strategy and enabled us to build a structured programme of environmental responsibility that continues to develop each year.

Advancing Sustainable Safety Gloves

Traffi introduced the LXT range in 2020 as a new benchmark for sustainability in the hand protection industry. The range was created to provide a more responsible alternative to traditional safety gloves.

Every stage of the glove lifecycle was measured, from raw material extraction and processing to manufacturing and logistics. These findings helped us identify improvement opportunities and allowed independent experts to verify our product-level environmental data using recognised international standards.

In 2023, we commissioned updated lifecycle assessments and expanded our measurement boundary to include the usage and end-of-life stages. This cradle-to-grave analysis gives us the complete picture we need in order to make meaningful reductions throughout the entire product journey.

Leading Progress in Sustainable Disposable Gloves

In 2022, Traffi introduced the TD02, a disposable glove shaped by detailed assessment, independent verification and close collaboration with certified environmental partners. This work required extensive data collection, lifecycle modelling and supply chain engagement, and it allowed us to set a new standard for transparency and sustainability within the disposable glove category.

Understanding Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 Emissions

Reducing environmental impact begins with understanding it fully. Emissions linked to a business fall into three categories.

  • Scope 1 refers to direct emissions that come from sources owned or controlled by the company.
  • Scope 2 refers to indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat or steam.
  • Scope 3 includes all other emissions related to a company's activities, including supply chain, logistics, product use and disposal.

Our lifecycle assessments show that more than 80 percent of a glove's manufacturing footprint sits upstream of the factory, within raw material extraction, processing and transportation. This is why Traffi's sustainability strategy extends far beyond internal operations and focuses heavily on collaboration throughout the global supply chain.
