Why - and why not - to work with Traffi

It’s all well and good telling health and safety managers and sustainability leads why they should be working with Traffi. We could quote facts, figures, and statistics to you, or get on our carbon footprint soapbox and make the sort of plea that might strike an emotional chord with regard to saving our environment. As it happens, we do have some very thoroughly researched    sustainability data on offer, as well as some very impressive statistics on injury reduction. That’s all readily available for you to do your own research, but the fact is that Traffi isn’t for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. Here are a few arguments against working with Traffi, and of course some context to show you why it could work well for all parties.

Health and Safety is a box ticking exercise for you

Yes, it’s important, you understand that. But it’s just your job at the end of the day. If you can say that everyone is wearing the legally required PPE, that’s as far as your role goes. You just need operatives to wear some sort of gloves to cover their hands, and cover the company’s backside in a legal sense. “Building a culture of safety” is of no interest to you, and sounds like a lot of work, so you won’t be taking Traffi up on our bespoke collateral or our toolbox talks to assist with a smooth rollout and ensure there’s engagement and buy in from the wider team.

The other side of this is that if the safety of your people is genuinely important to you, and more than a box that needs ticking, it’s certainly worth having a conversation with a hand protection specialist who feels the same.

Short-term cost-cutting is a priority

Traffi gloves aren’t the cheapest on the market. That’s a fact that we’re comfortable with. We do offer a wide range of products, including several more budget-conscious ranges. But safety is still the priority – there is a minimum requirement that our hand protection solutions will, as you should expect, protect hands. The fact that our gloves are produced with practical applications in mind means that we don’t cut corners and, as a result, we will not be involving ourselves in a race to the bottom on quality and price.

Long-term, our clients notice financial savings to go with the improved safety and sustainability figures. Our products far outlast “budget” alternatives, meaning a reduced cost in use and fewer gloves being purchased overall. So if you’re somebody who wants to save money in the long run, Traffi should certainly be seen as a viable option.

Sustainability doesn’t really matter

If you, or your company, are not striving for any sustainability targets or don’t generally see the importance of reducing waste and emissions, you might not be totally sold on our products. It’s been a few years since we introduced the first ever carbon neutral safety glove range, the LXTs, and to date we’ve continued assessing avoiding carbon emissions where possible. Through insetting and offsetting, we’ve reached the point where 85% of our live product range is now certified carbon neutral cradle to grave – so from material extraction, through manufacture, use, disposal and beyond. But that sort of thing might not matter to you, and that’s okay. Granted, sustainability is just a bonus where Traffi products are concerned. They’re also as effective, and in most cases more so, than those of competitors.

If you’re comparing two very similar gloves in terms of performance and cost, and you decide the one which is less environmentally friendly, that’s your business – and you’re not our target demographic.

That said, if you’re looking for the safest, most protective gloves you can find and don’t want to also cause unnecessary damage to our environment, it’s probably worth taking a closer look at Traffi’s offering.

A closing statement FOR Traffi

No product is for everyone, and we’re perfectly happy to rule ourselves out of the running to be the hand protection suppliers of choice for some people. Looking for the best possible returns across safety, sustainability, and durability will usually mean expecting to pay a premium of some sort. Conversely, when it’s a race to the bottom on quality, price, performance, and environmental impact there are no real winners long-term.  We want to work with those who take safety and sustainability seriously – if that’s you, request a sample today and together we can protect people and the planet.
